Natural History Fieldtrips

  2008

Bug

Natural History Field Science Programs - These trips provide you with the opportunity to learn about Alabama's rich natural and cultural heritage by taking you into the field to experience it firsthand. Museum naturalists will guide you to some of the most interesting and scenic places our state has to offer. Except as noted below, the field trips are designed for students age 12 and up, and interested adults are always welcome to participate. The museum furnishes transportation and most equipment.

Please bring your lunch, drinks and snacks. Some of these trips involve swimming or getting wet; for these bring a towel, change of clothes and an extra pair of shoes. Unless otherwise noted, participants will leave from Smith Hall on the University of Alabama Campus at 8:00 a.m. and return by 4:00 p.m. Each field trip is limited to 14 participants and will be lead by an experienced naturalist guide. (Teachers can earn 8 professional development hours for each session.)
